At Trails, our speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social and cognitive communication as well as swallowing problems in children. The programs are individualized. We also provide dyad sessions and small groups to target specific communication skills.
We see children who exhibit:
- Speech delay
- Articulation problems
- Concerns in following instructions and understanding questions
- Difficulties in engaging in conversations
- Problems in swallowing
Speech-Language Therapy can be availed through In-Person, Teletherapy or Individualized Home Program service delivery modes.

Our OTs assess, create a program and address children’s problems in behavior, sensory processing, movement, handwriting and others that affect their play and school activities. The programs are individualized. To manage their concerns, they can be seen in one-on-one, dyad or small-group sessions.
We see children who exhibit:
- Delays in developmental milestones
- Hypo or hyperactivity
- Difficulties coping in school
- Limited play skills and inability to make friends
- Excessive tantrums or aggressive behaviors
- Significant inattentiveness

At Trails, reading sessions involve engaging activities to improve children’s decoding and reading comprehension skills. The reading programs range from beginning reading to reading across the curriculum. The programs may be individualized or implemented in small groups. Reading tasks and activities are formulated and adjusted according to the learners’ needs and skills.
We see children who exhibit:
- Difficulties in identifying letter names and sounds
- Concerns in reading words and sentences
- Difficulties in following written instructions
- Difficulties in answering comprehension questions after reading a text

At Trails, special educators assess child’s academic skills and develop intervention programs based on his academic strengths and difficulties as well as his parents’ goal. We provide individual management based on a comprehensive assessment. Specific supportive teaching and simplified learning strategies are given so that topics/lessons would be easily understood. We give the child strategies on how to answer his homework by processing him on how to answer instead of just giving the answer. Materials used are developmentally appropriate to facilitate learning. We also provide children some pre-voc activities such as food preparation.
We see children who exhibit:
- Difficulties in decoding and reading comprehension
- Dyscalculia or difficulties in understanding and retaining rules, formula, order of calculations, and basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts
- Learning difficulties or difficulties in reading, writing, spelling and comprehension; limited vocabulary and communication skills; and difficulties applying skills to different situations
- ADHD/ADD. These children are easily distracted, forgetful, disorganized and exhibit poor attention to details.
- ASD. These children may have good memory and retention of facts but exhibit difficulties in understanding abstract concepts; they may exhibit good blending and decoding of words but exhibit difficulties in comprehension.

Social Thinking Classes
Social Thinking Class I is a weekly 2-hour session primarily designed for pre-school to early elementary children (4-7 years old). Activities are adapted from the We Thinkers Vol. 1 (formerly Incredible Flexible You) program by Michelle Garcia Winner. It utilizes stories, music, structured activities and dramatic play to teach social learning. In addition, the class also addresses work behaviors in a group setting such as compliance, independence, and self-regulation as well as conversing and relating with peers.
Social Skills Classes
Social Summer Camp targets to engage children, ages 6-7, to interact and explore hands-on tasks that would facilitate self-expression and relation with peers. This class will also target various concepts and skills necessary for working together, socialization and interaction. Arts and crafts, fun-filled games, self- care activities await these amazing kids.
Toddlers Playdate
This class provides opportunities for children aged 2 to 4 years old to engage in play with their same-aged peers. Different play activities provided will facilitate appropriate play skills and interaction, such as sharing and working together.
Language Class
Children, ages 4 to 6, will surely have a learning-filled and enjoyable summer through different activities included in this program. Vocabulary learning, answering simple questions, following instructions and simple concept integration skills will be targeted through delightful activities such as play, arts and crafts, games, and book sharing. Interaction with peers and teachers will also be worked on for this program.
